In certain circumstances, federal regulations require us to provide customers with home retention and non-home retention options for them to review. With respect to customers desiring to short sell their property, RTR requires such customers to complete a loss mitigation application in order for RTR to accurately review their financial circumstances for all available options. After the completed application is received, we will perform a loss mitigation review and mail out a letter describing the loss mitigation options available to the customer. We can also email or fax a copy of that letter to our customer’s authorized agents in order to expedite the process. If the customer still wishes to proceed with the short sale, he or she may send the options letter back with the short sale option selected. This letter can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org for faster processing. Please note that the application review process may take up to 30 days after receipt of a completed application.
